Explorer – Steampunk Airship globe

A ship in a bottle?

An airship in a snow globe. With glittery, star-sparkled dust carrying it on an adventure, Starship Explorer rides the airwaves.

You are my Sunflower

There once was a girl who loved sunflowers, and animals, and rainbows, and riding her wooden swing high above the trees.

She loved to smile; she was kind and gentle, and thoughtful in her ways.

The world was a better place when she laughed.

She was perfect and she was loved.

A Song Only She Could Hear

Experimenting.

I wanted to express emotions, ideas and yearnings with the movement of clay — but this one took me by surprise.

Although I was feeling a sweet, dreamy, thoughtful face when I made it, when finished, I felt certain that this tiny being was listening to a song that only she could hear.

And so it is.

When shaken, the liquid bursts with golden dust and flecks of black music notes. It is a song that only she can hear. Designs and images copyright (c) 2014 Camryn Forrest Designs, Denver, Colorado.

Grow Old With Me (sparkle water globe)

A wisp of a lyric, written on the wind, “Grow old with me, the best is yet to be.

– John Lennon and Robert Browning had the same idea.

Along those simple lines, a snow globe holds a couple of indeterminate age, holding each other as the world swirls round them.

Shake the globe and the liquid fills with glittering sparkles of gold; each tiny star a memory, each memory a brick in the life that’s built together.

Below the Storm – Submarine Snow Globe

What if someone was diving who did not know that all kinds of storm was raging above? Swimming, as it were, Below the Storm.

This piece is just that: the quiet calm place below the storm, where we explore and delve into mysteries of the deep.

Magic Happens (Happy 100th!) Sparkle Snow Globe

As I pulled together the thoughts and images to post this art today, I realized that this was my 100th blog post.

Back a few months ago, when I realized this “magic” number was approaching, I thought I should plan ahead and write something special.

But I got busy with this and that, and the joy and heartbreak of every day life, routines and surprises, hope and disappointment and here it is: the Magic 100.

And the globe that was ready to post?

Magic Happens.

There’s a story behind this sparkly snow globe, with the dancing silver flecks, ice-blue glass heart and a just glimpse of an iridescent heart (if you don’t blink!) … but I can’t tell it here.

I was inspired by someone with a true blue heart, and can only say that when you shake this globe, and the world fills with light, and laughter, and hope, for a moment you will believe.
