Teal Me Again

While making snow globes, one often has to accept that not everything is possible.
On the other hand, sometimes the unexpected happens.
Many shimmering glitters and dusts do NOT behave in liquid. They disappear. They fade. They leach color into the liquid.
But once in a while … oh! a sparkle holds it own and keeps every promise it makes.
“Teal Me Again” is a tribute to the color that will not quit.
It dances, it prances, it whistles a tune: It does not tint the liquid. It does not become invisible. It simply makes one smile.
Again and again.
Teal Me.
Again.

Pushing the Envelope

Balloon terms I didn’t know: The Envelope, The Gores, The Crown, The Skirt, The Burner, The Mouth. There may be a story here, and a story with every balloon journey. A tale of adventure, of mystery. Secret communication (why else call it The Envelope?)
This tiny balloon with intricate lacing is less than 2 inches tall. Hovering aloft above the rooftops of the sleeping town below.

How far can you fly, floating on clouds, accepting the winds? As the balloon would tell you, as far as you can push the envelope itself.

Balloon sculpture with golden thread and leather cord, beading. Embellished base with leather wrap and brass rivets on a copper plate below. Designs and images copyright (c) 2021 Camryn Forrest Designs, Denver, Colorado USA.

All She Ever Thinks About

Jimi Hendrix’s lyrics for “Little Wing” inspired this globe. Because,

…. Butterflies and zebras, and moonbeams, that’s all she ever thinks about.

?

“Little Wing” by Jimi Hendrix

Well she’s walking, through the clouds

With a circus mind that’s running round

Butterflies and zebras

And moonbeams

And-a, fairytales

That’s all she ever thinks about

Riding with the wind

When I’m sad, she comes to me

With a thousand smiles she gives to me free

It’s alright, she said, it’s alright

Take anything you want from me

Anything, anything

Fly on, little wing.

Air Apparent (the zeppelin)

Been cooped up in a small space? Working from home? Hanging out with the same small group of people, mostly all related to you?

When you really need to get away, there’s nothing like owning an airship.

Apparently.

Air Apparent: tiny sculpted clay airship with metal and acrylic embellishments. Hovering over a the rooftops on a tiny town; when shaken, the “sky” fills with iridescent shimmery dust.

Head Start

“The journey of a 100 miles begins with a single step.”

Where does everything start? With a thought, an idea, an urge, a feeling. It starts in your head. Sometimes your inspiration comes fully formed, ready to go, one size fits. And other times it needs to get loose, run around, find a rhythm to get going.

When we have an advantage, we call it a “head start.” Funny thing, that, since everything starts and finishes in the head. Don’t quit while you’re ahead: keep running until you get there. Where ever “there” may be.
